দেশে প্রাণঘাতী করোনাভাইরাসে (কোভিড-১৯) আক্রান্ত চিকিৎসকের সংখ্যা ৫০০ ছাড়িয়েছে। বৃহস্পতিবার (৩০ এপ্রিল) রাতে বাংলাদেশ ডক্টরস ফাউন্ডেশনের (বিডিএফ) পক্ষ থেকে এ তথ্য জানানো হয়েছে।
তারা জানিয়েছে, আক্রান্তদের মধ্যে বেশ কয়েকজন চিকিৎসক আইসিউ তে চিকিৎসাধীন রয়েছে ।
জানা যায়, ২১ এপ্রিলকরোনা ভাইরাসে আক্রান্ত চিকিৎসকের সংখ্যা ছিল ২০০ জন । এরপর ২৭ এপ্রিল সে সংখ্যা দাঁড়ায় ৩৭৩ জনে। সব শেষে আক্রান্ত চিকিৎসকের সংখ্যা দাড়িয়েছে পাচশ’র বেশি । এর মধ্যে আক্রান্ত চিকিৎসকদের মধ্যে শুধু ঢাকাতেই আছেন ২৮৩ জন। দ্বিতীয় অবস্থানে রয়েছে ময়মনসিংহ।
এদিকে বিশ্বব্যাপী প্রতিদিনই করোনাভাইরাস মহামারি রূপ ধারন করছে । লাফিয়ে লাফিয়ে বাড়ছে আক্রান্ত ও মৃতের সংখ্যা । অথচ আক্রান্তের সংখ্যা অনুযায়ী সুস্থ্যতার সংখ্যা অনেক গুণে কম ।
শুক্রবার (০১ মে) করোনা ভাইরাস নিয়ে স্বাস্থ্য অধিদপ্তরের নিয়মিত অনলাইন বুলেটিনে জানা যায়, বাংলাদেশে গত ২৪ ঘণ্টায় ৫৭১ জন করোনা আক্রান্ত রোগী শনাক্ত হয়েছে। এ নিয়ে দেশে মোট আক্রান্তের সংখ্যা দাঁড়াল ৮২৭১ জনে। গত ২৪ ঘণ্টায় আরও ২ জনের মৃত্যু হয়েছে। এ নিয়ে মোট মৃতের সংখ্যা বেড়ে দাঁড়াল ১৭০ জনে।
