Narayanganj: 39 members of RAB are affected by Corona. Corona virus was found in the bodies of 39 other members of the RAB-11 battalion in Narayanganj, including four senior officers. It is learned that recently 221 RAB officers were sent to Dhaka for testing. From there, it was reported that 39 RAB officers were infected with corona. So far 90 officials have reported but the rest have not yet arrived. However, none of the victims had any symptoms and everyone is healthy. Yet they have been kept in isolation as per the advice of the doctors.

নারায়ণগঞ্জের র্যাব-১১ ব্যাটালিয়ানের ঊর্ধ্বতন চার কর্মকর্তাসহ আরও ৩৯ সদস্যের শরীরে করোনা ভাইরাসের অস্তিত্ব পাওয়া গেছে। তাদের প্রত্যেককে আইসোলেশনে রাখা হয়েছে। বুধবার (২৯ এপ্রিল) রাতে সাংবাদিকদের এ তথ্য নিশ্চিত করেছেন র্যাব-১১ ব্যাটালিয়ানের সিনিয়র অফিসার ও সহকারী পরিচালক মো. আলেপ উদ্দিন।
জানা যায়, সম্প্রতি ২২১ জন র্যাব কর্মকর্তার নমুনা পরীক্ষার জন্য ঢাকায় পাঠানো হয়। সেখান থেকে রিপোর্ট আসলে জানা যায় ৩৯ জন র্যাব কর্মকর্তার শরীরে করোনা সংক্রামিত হয়েছে । এখন পর্যন্ত ৯০ জন কর্মকর্তার রিপোর্ট এসেছে তবে বাকিদের রিপোর্ট এখনও আসেনি । তবে আক্রান্তদের মধ্যে কারোরই কোন উপসর্গ ছিলনা বা নেই এবং প্রত্যেকেই সুস্থ্য রয়েছেন । তবুও তাদের আইসোলেশনে রেখে চিকিৎসকদের পরামর্শ অনুযায়ী রাখা হয়েছে ।
সিনিয়র সহকারী পরিচালক মো. আলেপ উদ্দিন জানায়, নারায়ণগঞ্জে করোনার প্রকোপ বৃদ্ধি পাওয়ার আগে থেকেই র্যাব কর্মকর্তারা বিভিন্ন এলাকায় দায়িত্ব পালন করেছে । বিভিন্ন এলাকায় বাড়ি বাড়ি গিয়ে ত্রাণ পৌছে দিয়েছে । তখন র্যাব কর্মকর্তাদের বিভিন্ন মানুষের সংস্পর্শে যেতে হয়েছে । তখনি কোন ভাবে করোনা ভাইরাসে আক্রান্ত ব্যক্তির সংস্পর্শে এসে র্যাব কর্মকর্তাদের শরীরে ভাইরাস ছড়িয়ে পড়েছে ।
এর আগে, গত সপ্তাহে র্যাব-১১ ব্যাটালিয়ানের তিনজন সদস্যের শরীরে করোনা ভাইরাস শনাক্ত হয়েছে । এরপর থেকেই অন্যান্য সদস্যরা আক্রান্ত হয় ।
সিনিয়র সহকারী পরিচালক মো. আলেপ উদ্দিন জানায়, করোনা ভাইরাস পুরোপুরি নির্মূল না হওয়া পর্যন্ত র্যাব কর্মকর্তাদের মাঠ পর্যায়ের কার্যক্রম অভ্যাহত থাকবে ।
