Gazipur: 32 policemen were infected with corona. In Gazipur, coronavirus has infected 32 policemen till last Monday. Of them, 25 are working in Gachha police station of Gazipur metropolis and the remaining seven are working in Gazipur Kaliganj police station.
The Gazipur Metropolitan Police (GMP) commissioner said 20 policemen were identified as coronaviruses at Gachha police station on Monday. Earlier, corona infection was detected in 5 more people in the same police station.
It is known that all the affected people are in isolation. Besides, regular activities of the police station have been continued.
Meanwhile, Additional Superintendent of Police of Kaliganj-Kapasia Circle of the district police informed about the corona infection among seven persons of Kaliganj police station.

গাজীপুর মহানগর পুলিশ (জিএমপি) কমিশনার জানান, গত সোমবারের তথ্য অনুযায়ী গাছা থানায় ২০ জন পুলিশ সদস্যের করোনাভাইরাস শনাক্ত হয়েছে। এর আগে, একই থানায় আরও ৫ জনের মধ্যে করোনা সংক্রমণ ধরা পড়েছি ।
জানা যায়, আক্রান্ত ব্যক্তিরা সবাই আইসোলশনে আছেন। পাশাপাশি থানার নিয়মিত কার্যক্রম চালু রাখা হয়েছে।
এদিকে কালীগঞ্জ থানার সাতজনের মধ্যে করোনা সংক্রমণের তথ্য জানিয়েছেন জেলা পুলিশের কালীগঞ্জ-কাপাসিয়া সার্কেলের অতিরিক্ত পুলিশ সুপার ।
গাজীপুর সদর উপজেলা স্বাস্থ্য ও পরিবার কল্যাণ থেকে জানা যায় ১৩ এপ্রিল গাছা থানার এক উপপরিদর্শকের (এসআই) প্রথম করোনা শনাক্ত হয়। এরপর ১৬ এপ্রিল গাছা থানার আরও ৩ পুলিশ সদস্যসহ একজন বাবুর্চী করোনাভাইরাসে আক্রান্ত হয়েছিল ।
পরবর্তীতে ১৮ এপ্রিল একটি মেডিকেল টিম গাছা থানার আরও ২৬ জনের নমুনা সংগ্রহ করে ঢাকায় পাঠায়। তাদের মধ্যে ২০ জনের করোনাভাইরাস সনাক্ত হয় । এ নিয়ে এখন পর্যন্ত গাছা থানায় ২৫ জন পুলিশ সদস্য করোনা ভাইরাসে আক্রান্ত হয়েছে ।
দেশব্যাপী পুলিশ সেনাবাহিনী নিজেদের জীবন বাজী রেখে একযুগে করোনা মোকাবেলায় মাঠ পর্যায়ে কাজ করে যাচ্ছে । স্বাস্থ্যকর্মীদের পাশাপাশি এরাও করোনা যোদ্ধা হিসেবে এগিয়ে যাচ্ছে । তবু সরকার থেকে এদের পর্যাপ্ত সুরক্ষার ব্যবস্থা দিতে পারেনি ।
Gazipur: 32 policemen were infected with corona
According to Gazipur Sadar Upazila Health and Family Welfare, the first corona of a sub-inspector (SI) of Gachha police station was identified on April 13. Then on April 16, a cook, along with three other policemen from Gachha police station, was infected with the coronavirus.
Later on April 18, a medical team collected samples from Gachha police station and sent them to Dhaka. Coronavirus was detected in 20 of them. So far, 25 policemen have been infected with the corona virus in Gachha police station.
Police forces across the country are working at the field level to deal with Corona at a time when they are risking their lives. Along with the health workers, they are also advancing as Corona fighters. However, the government could not provide adequate protection to them.
