নারায়ণগঞ্জে সিভিল সার্জন কার্যালয়ের এক মেডিকেল অফিসারের পরিবারের ১৮ জন করোনায় (কোভিড-১৯) পজিটিভ হয়েছেন। যখন দেশজুড়ে স্বস্থ্যকর্মীরা করোনাভাইরাস মোকাবেলায় নিঃস্বার্থভাবে যোদ্ধ করে যাচ্ছে । ঠিক তখনই কোন স্বাস্থ্যকর্মী করোনায় আক্রান্ত হলে তাদের পরিবার নিয়ে সমাজে মানুষের কাছে অসহনীয় হয়ে উঠছে ।
একজন স্বাস্থ্যকর্মী জীবন-মৃত্যুর মাঝে থেকে সাধারণ মানুষকে সেবা দিয়ে সুস্থ্য করে তোলে । অথচ একজন স্বাস্থ্যকর্মী যখন অসুস্থ্য হচ্ছে মানুষ তার পাশে না দাঁড়িয়ে বরং তাদের পরিবারসহ এলাকা ছাড়া করতে চাইছে । কি অদ্ভূত ! দুনীয়ার মানুষগুলো ।
জানা যায়, নারায়ণগঞ্জে সিভিল সার্জন কার্যালয়ের এক মেডিকেল অফিসারের পরিবারের ১৮ জন করোনায় আক্রান্ত হয়েছে । এরমধ্যে স্থানীয় লোকজন পরিবারটিকে এলাকা থেকে বিতাড়িত করার জন্য বাড়িরর দিকে ইট-পাটকেল নিক্ষেপ করছে ।
ভুক্তভোগী পরিবারটি জানায় , যখন স্থানীয় লোকজন জানতে পারে – তাদের পরিবারটি করোনায় আক্রান্ত হয়েছে । তারপর থেকেই বাড়ির দিকে ইট-পাটকেল ছুড়ে তাদের এলাকা ছাড়া করার চেষ্টা করছে কিছু লোকজন ।
তবে বিষয়টি জানতে পেরে সদর উপজেলা নির্বাহী কর্মকর্তা (ইউএনও) নাহিদা বারিক ঘটনাস্থলে গিয়ে পরিস্থিতি সামাল দেন এবং মাইকে ঘোষণা দিয়ে এলাকাবাসীকে শান্ত করেন। ইউএনও’র হস্তক্ষেপে এলাকাবাসীর রোষানল থেকে রক্ষা পেয়েছেন করোনায় আক্রান্ত হওয়া ১৮ জনের পরিবারটি।
গতকাল মঙ্গলবার (২৮ এপ্রিল) ওই মেডিকেল অফিসার বলেন, সন্ধ্যার দিকে বাড়িতে কে বা কারা যেন ঢিল ছুঁড়েছে। বিষয়টি প্রশাসনকে জানানো হয়েছে । থানা থেকে পুলিশও এসে ঘুরে গিয়েছে। আমাকে প্রশাসন থেকে আশ্বস্ত করা হয়েছে পুলিশ এবং সেনাবাহিনী নিয়মিত এখানে আসা যাওয়া করবে।
তিনি আরও বলেন, এমনিতেই তাদের পরিবারের সবাই করোনায় আক্রান্ত হয়েছে । এই মুহূর্তে তাদের মানসিক অবস্থা মোটেও ভাল নয় । এই সময়ে তাদের সাপোর্ট ও সাহায্য দরকার । অথচ এলাকায় তারা স্থানীয় হওয়া সত্যেও আশেপাশের লোকজন তাদের সাথে এমন ব্যবহার করছে ।
তিনি জানান, চিকিৎসক পরিবারের বসবাসরত ওই বাড়িটি ইতিমধ্যেই লকডাউনে রাখা হয়েছে । কাউকে বাইরে যেতে দেওয়া হয়না এবং স্বাস্থ্যকর্মী ছাড়া কাউকে বাড়ির ভেতরেও আসতে দেওয়া হয়না । তারপরেও কেন তাদেরকে উৎখাতের চেষ্টা করছে মানুষ ।
