বাংলাদেশ সরকার করোনা ভাইরাসের জন্য ৩য় দফায় ছুটি বৃদ্ধি করে ১৪ এপ্রিল পর্যন্ত করেছে । যেহেতু দেশে এখনো পর্যন্ত করোনাই আক্রান্ত ও মৃত্যু অভ্যাহত রয়েছে । একই সাথে বিগত ২৪ ঘন্টায় রেকর্ড সংখ্যক বেড়ে নতুন আক্রান্তের সংখ্যা দাড়িছে ১৮ জন এবং মোট ৮৮ জন । একই সাথে মৃতের সংখ্যা দাড়িয়েছে ৯ জন । সুস্থ হয়েছেন ৩৩ জন।
করোনা ভাইরাসের প্রাদুর্ভাবের কারণে দেশে তৃতীয় দফায় ছুটি বাড়ানো হয়েছে। এ দফায় সাধারণ ছুটি ঘোষণা করা হয়েছে ১৪ এপ্রিল পর্যন্ত।
বাংলাদেশে করোনা ভাইরাস ছড়িয়ে পড়া রোধ করতে ও করোনার সাথে মোকাবেলা করতে গত ২৬ মার্চ থেকে ১১ এপ্রিল পর্যন্ত যে ছুটি চলছিল , সেটার মেয়াদ বাড়িয়ে টানা ৩য় বারের মত বৃদ্ধি করে ১৪ এপ্রিল পর্যন্ত বাড়ানো হয়েছে বলে জানান জনপ্রশাসন মন্ত্রণালয় । এ বিষয়ে সাংবাদিকদের নিশ্চিত করেছেন জনপ্রশাসন মন্ত্রণালয়ের প্রতিমন্ত্রী ফরহাদ হোসেন ।
তিনি আরো বলেন, বাংলাদেশের প্রধানমন্ত্রী জননেত্রী শেখ হাসিনার সরকার এই বেপারে সম্মতি জানিয়েছেন । বিষটি নিয়ে অনেক ভাবনা চিন্তার পর এই সিদ্ধান্তে উপনিত হয়েছে সরকার ।
দেশে এই প্রথম কোন উৎসব ছাড়া কোনো মহামারীর জন্য টানা দীর্ঘ দিনের ছুটি চলছে । শুধু তাই নয়, ১১ তারিখের পরেও বাড়তে পারে ছুটির তালিকা । যদি পরিস্থিতি ভয়াবহ পর্যায়ে সম্ভবনা দেখা দেয় ।
এদিকে বিশ্বে এখন পর্যন্ত করোনা ভাইরাসে আক্রান্ত হয়েছে ১২ লাখ ১০ হাজার ১২ জনের বেশি এবং এখন পর্যন্ত মারা গেছেন ৬৫ হাজার ৫২৬ জন ।
যুক্তরাষ্ট্রে করোনা ভাইরাসে আক্রান্তের সংখ্যা দাড়িয়েছে ৩ লাখ ৮ হাজার ৮৫ জন এবং মারা গেছেন ৮ হাজার ৪৯৬ জন ।
আক্রান্তের সংখ্যায় ২য় স্পেন । স্পেনে আক্রান্ত হয়েছে ১ লাখ ৩০ হাজার ৭৫৯ জন এবং মারা গেছেন ১২ হাজার ৪১৮ জন । মৃতের সংখ্যা সবচেয়ে বেশি ইতালিতে । ইতালিতে করোনা ভাইরাসে মোট আক্রান্তের সংখ্যা ১ লাখ ২৪ হাজার ৬৩২ জন এবং মারা গেছেন ১৫ হাজার ৩৬২ জন ।
আক্রান্তের সংখ্যায় এর পরের অবস্থানে রয়েছে যথাক্রমে জার্মানি ও ফ্রান্স । আক্রান্তের সংখ্যা হিসেবে শীর্ষ পাঁচটি দেশের মধ্যে নেই চীন তবে তাদের অবস্থান এখন ছয়ে ।
