ক্ষমা চাইলেন রাস্তাঘাটে লোকজনকে পেটানো সেই কমিশনার । করোনাভাইরাসের সংক্রমণ রোধে সামাজিক দূরত্ব বজায় রাখতে এবং লকডাউন কার্যকর করতে মঙ্গলবার (০৭ এপ্রিল) সাধারণ মানুষকে লাঠি দিয়ে পিটানোর পর বিষয়টি সামাজিক মাধ্যমে ভাইরাল হওয়ায় ক্ষমা ও দুঃখ প্রকাশ করছেন টাঙ্গাইল পৌরসভার ওয়ার্ড কাউন্সিলর আমিনুর রহমান আমিন।
ক্ষমা চেয়ে ফেসবুকে একটি ভিডিও আপলোড করেছেন তিনি। তিনি বলেন, বিশ্বব্যাপী করোনা ভাইরাস মহামাহী আকার ধারণ করেছে । প্রতিদিন সংক্রমনের সংখ্যা ও মৃতের সংখ্যা বেড়েই চলেছে । বাংলাদেশেও প্রতিদিন করোনার প্রকোপ বৃদ্ধি পাচ্ছে । সাধারণ মানুষকে বার বার বুঝানোর পরেও তারা অকারনে বাইরে ঘুরাফেরা করেই যাচ্ছিল ।
তাই দেশের করোনা মহামারী আকারে যাতে ছড়িয়ে পড়তে না পারে সেই আবেগে মানুষকে ভয়-ভীতি দেখিয়েছি । যাতে কেউ বাইরে না বের হয় এবং সচেতনতা বজায় রেখে চলে । তবে তার জন্য আমি ক্ষমা ও দুঃখ প্রকাশ করছি ।
মঙ্গলবার (০৭ এপ্রিল) দুপুর সাড়ে ১২টার দিকে মানুষের আনাগোনা তেমন একটা চোখে না পড়লেও শহরের নিরালার মোড়ে নিউমার্কেটে ওষুধের দোকানে মানুষ ভিড় করছিলেন ওষুধ কেনার জন্য। কিন্তু তারা সামাজিক দূরত্ব বজায় রাখছিলেন না। স্থানীয় জনসাধারণ কেউ প্রয়োজনে – অপ্রয়োজনে সেই এলাকায় চলাফেরা করছিল ।
সাধারণ মানুষ কিছু বুঝে উঠার আগেই লাঠি হাতে হাজির হন পৌরসভার ১২ নং ওয়ার্ড কাউন্সিলর আমিনুর রহমান আমিন, টাঙ্গাইল পৌরসভার প্যানেল মেয়র সাইফুজ্জামান সোহেল, টাঙ্গাইল চেম্বর অব কমার্সের সভাপতি খান আহমেদ শুভ, জেলা যুবলীগের সাধারণ সম্পাদক ফারুক হোসেন মানিক ও শহর আওয়ামী লীগের সাধারণ সম্পাদক এম এ রৌফ।
ভিডিওতে দেখা যায় বাজার করতে ও ওষুদ কিনতে আসা মানুষকেও লাঠিপেটা করা হতে বাদ দেওয়া হয়নি । ভিডিওতে লক্ষ্য করা যায় মানুষকে ফিরে যাওয়ার এক সেকেন্ড সময়ও দেয়া হয়নি তার আগেই এলোপাথারী পেটেনো হয়েছে লাঠি দিয়ে । লক্ষ্য করা যায় কয়েকটি মোটর বাইকওয়ালাদের গাড়ি ঘুরানোর সুযোগ পর্যন্ত তারা দেননি , বরং গাড়ি ঘুরানোর ২/৪ সেকেন্ডের মধ্যেই কাউন্সিলর আমিনুর রহমান ২/৩ টি আঘাত করেছে লাঠি দিয়ে ।
সাধারণ মানুষ কিছু বুঝে উঠার আগেই সামাজিক দূরত্ব বজায় রাখার অজুহাত দেখিয়ে লাঠি দিয়ে পেটাতে শুরু করেন সাধারণ মানুষকে। একদল আওয়ামীলীগ নেতা কর্মীদের এভাবে রাস্তায় নেমে জনসাধারণকে স্বাভাবিক ভাবে বুঝিয়ে ঘরে পাঠানোর প্রত্যাশা করেছিল মানুষ । কিন্তু কেউ ভাবেনি তারা এভাবে মানুষকে এলোপাথারি আঘাত করে ভয় দেখাবে । এটা কোন আইনের আওতায় পড়েনা । কোন ইউনিয়ন পরিষদ কাউন্সিলরের এরকম ক্ষমতা সরকার দেয়নি বা কোন আইনের ধারাতেও নেই ।
এরপর সেখান থেকে চলে যান পার্ক বাজার রোডে। সেখানেও কয়েকটি ফুটপাতের ব্যবসায়ী ও নিত্যপ্রয়োজনীয় পণ্য কিনতে আসা কয়েকজনকে পেটানো হয়। এরপর নিরালার মোড় দিয়ে সাধারণ মানুষকে পেটাতে পেটাতে তারা চলে যান শহরের শান্তিকুঞ্জ মোড়ে। সেখানেও পেটানো হয় কয়েকজনকে। এরপর চলে যান ছয়আনি বাজারে। সেখানেও একই অবস্থা বাজার করতে আসা সাধারণ মানুষদের। তাদের উপরও চলে অমানবিকভাবে লাঠিপেটা। এসবের ভিডিও সামাজিক মাধ্যমে ছড়িয়ে পড়লে সমালোচনার ঝড় উঠে কাউন্সিলরের বিরুদ্ধে ।
এরপরই টনক নড়ে কাউন্সিলর আমিনুর রহমান আমিনের। পরে কাউন্সিলর আমিনুর রহমান আমিন এ ঘটনায় ক্ষমা এবং দুঃখ প্রকাশ করে নিজের ফেসবুকে একটি ভিডিও আপলোড করেন।
