The education secretary said pre-primary education has been introduced in government primary schools for a period of one year (five to six years).
The Secretary of the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education further said that from next year, I will do my best to introduce pre-primary education for a period of two years. For this, more than one lakh teachers will be recruited in the next 5 years.

সরকারি প্রাথমিক বিদ্যালয়ে প্রাক-প্রাথমিকসহ বিভিন্ন স্তরে এক লাখেরও বেশি শিক্ষক নিয়োগ দেয়া হবে।
বৃহস্পতিবার (7 মে) প্রাথমিক ও গণশিক্ষা মন্ত্রণালয়ের জনসংযোগ দপ্তর এ তথ্য জানায় ।
রাজধানীর গুলশানে স্পেকট্রা কনভেনশন সেন্টারে অনুষ্ঠিত এক গোলটেবিল বৈঠকে প্রাথমিক ও গণশিক্ষা মন্ত্রণালয়ের সচিব মো. আকরাম-আল হোসেন এ কথা জানিয়েছেন।
শিক্ষা সচিব জানান, বর্তমানে দেশের সরকারি প্রাথমিক বিদ্যালয়গুলোতে এক বছর মেয়াদি (পাঁচ থেকে ছয় বছর) প্রাক-প্রাথমিক শিক্ষা চালু করা হয়েছে।
প্রাথমিক ও গণশিক্ষা মন্ত্রণালয়ের সচিব আরও জানান, আগামী বছর থেকেই দুই বছর মেয়াদি প্রাক-প্রাথমিক শিক্ষা চালুর জন্য সর্বোচ্চ চেষ্টা করবো। এজন্য আগামী 5 বছরে এক লাখের বেশি শিক্ষক নিয়োগ করা হবে।
