দেশে করোনার ভাইরাসের প্রকোপ দিন দিন বেড়েই চলেছে, তবে গত ২৪ ঘন্টার মধ্যে রেকর্ড সংখ্যক প্রাদুর্ভাবের খবর পাওয়া গেছে।
তবে বাংলাদেশে লকডাউন ও প্রশাসনের কড়া নজরদারি প্রচলিত রয়েছে। বাংলাদেশ সরকার করোনার ভাইরাস নিয়ন্ত্রণে যথাসাধ্য চেষ্টা করছে। সব দিক দিয়ে প্রথম এবং দ্বিতীয় ছুটির কথা বিবেচনা করার পরে, সোমবার (০৫ এপ্রিল) আবারও তৃতীয়বারের জন্য সাধারন ছুটি বাড়িয়ে ১৪ ই এপ্রিল , চতুর্থবারের মত ছুটি বাড়িয়ে ২৫ এপ্রিল ,পঞ্চমবারের মত সাধারণ ছুটি বাড়িয়ে ৫ মে পর্যন্ত করা হয়েছিল । এরপরেও ষষ্ঠবারের মত সাধারণ ছুটি বৃদ্ধি করে ১৫ মে ২০২০ পর্যন্ত ছিল। পুনরায় সপ্তমবারের মত ছুটি বৃদ্ধি করে ৩০ মে ২০২০ পর্যন্ত ঘোষনা করেছে সরকার । তবে এই ছুটি থাকবে শর্ত সাপেক্ষে ।
জনসাধারণের ধারণা, ভুক্তভোগীর সংখ্যা গত কয়েকদিন ধরে বৃদ্ধির কারন সরকারের গার্মেন্টস কারখানা খোলা রাখার নির্দেশনা দেওয়ায় । ফলস্বরূপ সংক্রমনের সংখ্যা কয়েক গুণ বৃদ্ধি পেয়েছে গত কয়েকদিন ধরে। কারণ গণপরিবহন বন্ধের নির্দেশনা সত্ত্বেও বলা হয়েছিল যে দেশের বিভিন্ন জায়গায় গার্মেন্টস কারখানায় কাজ চলবে ।
এই কারণেই সাধারণ ছুটির প্রথম পর্ব শেষ হওয়ার পরে ০৫ এপ্রিল (রবিবার) অফিসে যাওয়ার তাগিদ দিয়ে অনেকে কর্মস্থলে ফিরে এসেছেন। রাস্তায় গাড়ি না থাকায় এবং চাকরি হারাতে যাওয়ার ভয়ে অনেক লোক ঢাকায় ছুটে এসেছেন নিজের মতো করে। এর পর থেকে করোনার ভাইরাসে সংক্রামিত মানুষের সংখ্যা নাটকীয়ভাবে বেড়েছে।
আশ্চর্যের বেপার এটাই যে, চীন কি করে ভাইরাস নিয়ন্ত্রণ করে চলেছে ? যার ফলে এত দিনেও মৃতের সংখ্যা মাত্র ৪ হাজার ৭৩৪ জন ? তাহলেকে চীন এই করোনা ভাইরাসের ভ্যাকসিন তৈরী করে তার ব্যবহার করছে ? এটাই এখন বিশ্বব্যাপী প্রশ্ন ।
